Freelance Culture Copywriter (Memphis)

Location: Memphis

Three(i) Creative Communications, a leading do-good marketing agency, is seeking a freelance writer skilled in writing Memphis-centered lifestyle and culture content engaging millennials and Generation Z. Experience writing for newspapers is a plus. 

We need someone who can commit to consistently delivering high-quality work in the form of blog articles, e-books, infographics, and more.


This will be a part-time, on-going freelance opportunity. The workload may fluctuate based on the clients’ needs. All work can be done remotely.




  • Create high-quality, differentiated and compelling copy in the form of blog articles, e-books, and case studies for a non-profit organization focused on engaging young adults in the city of Memphis.

  • Attend or synthesize interviews on Zoom with clients and subject matter experts.

  • Write a minimum of 4 blog articles per month (titles and key points to be provided) and longer-form content as needed. 

  • Write in Chicago or AP styles as needed.

  • Be willing and able to take feedback on your writing and pivot or revise as necessary.

  • Other related responsibilities as assigned.


Experience and Education Requirements:


  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience) in writing or marketing communications.

  • Experience in writing about the following (required):

    • Experience writing with diverse young adults in mind

    • Experience writing about Memphis life and culture

    • Knowledgeable about Memphis event and landmarks

    • Experienced in storytelling and crafting compelling copy

  • Ability to write customized content for a diverse, cross-generational audience while maintaining brand voice and integrity.

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills

  • A meticulous approach to grammar, spelling, blog structure, and providing the highest quality, cleanest, most concise copy possible

  • The ability to research topics and include relevant statistics, data, references and citations

  • An uncompromising approach to hitting deadlines
